April 7, 2025 - The China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF) has officially announced the results of its "2024 Annual Evaluation of Innovative Products in Chemical New Materials." Among the 12 national winners is bio-based 1,2-pentanediol, an innovative product independently developed by Henan HOSN, a subsidiary of Yino Biologic Group. The product stood out for its technological innovation, economic benefits, and industry impact, and is the only entry on the list featuring a "non-food bio-based" technology as its core.

The awarded product, bio-based 1,2-pentanediol, is built upon an advanced high-value utilization technology, forming a closed-loop production system that converts [ corncob→furfural→1,2-pentanediol ]. Leveraging non-food biomass with zero environmental burden, the material demonstrates strong substitution potential across multiple sectors, including pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, biodegradable materials, and cosmetics, etc. The facility is capable of converting over 2 million tons of biomass annually, reducing carbon emissions by approximately 75% compared to traditional petroleum-based processes-redefining the green value chain through technological innovation.

 

This national-level recognition was granted by a leading industry authority, evaluating entries across three key dimensions: technological innovation, economic performance, and expert endorsement. It represents the highest level of achievement in China's chemical new materials sector. While inclusion in this prestigious list marks a significant milestone, it is only the beginning.
